Data sources & verification

Every number we show carries a source and a date.

Exchange rates

Mid-market reference rates are fetched from independent public rate providers on a USD base, and INR cross-rates are derived from that single payload so every page agrees. The provider name and exact fetch time appear next to every rate. If no provider responds, we show that rates are unavailable rather than reusing an unlabelled old number, and cost calculations that depend on a rate are held back.

Card and cash-exchange fees

Fee data is entered per provider with a source name, a link to the published schedule and the date it was checked. Each row then carries one of four labels.

Verified

Matched against the provider's published schedule, with a source link and a check date within the last six months.

Partially verified

The main charges are confirmed, but some secondary fees are still unconfirmed.

Verification expired

It was verified once, but the check is older than six months, so recheck the current figures with the provider before relying on them.

Illustrative estimate

Typical market values used to show how the calculation works. Not a quote, and never presented as the provider's official pricing.

How totals are built

Every total is the base spend at the mid-market rate plus the FX markup, tax on that markup, ATM and reload fees, joining and annual fees where they apply, cross-currency charges and any other listed charges. Each result shows a full line-by-line breakdown so you can check the arithmetic yourself.

Corrections

If a fee looks wrong, tell us and we will recheck it against the provider's published schedule. Read the rate & fee disclaimer for the limits of these estimates.
